Neida

Seventeen-year-old Neida was diagnosed with her illness when she was just 10-years-old. Tumours as large as 3kg have been removed from her ovaries and chemotherapy and hospital visits were just part of everyday life for her for three years.

At 13 her condition improved and she was being hailed by doctors as something of a ‘medical miracle’ and she required six monthly check-ups. She does still grow tumours and late last year had an operation to remove the majority of the tumour.

Neida has a seven-year-old brother Logan and a 15-year-old sister Shane and they are a fun loving family who do a lot together. Neida loves feeling better because she can play a lot more sports. She is now involved in netball, rugby, soccer, volleyball and basketball and performs in a cultural group.

She is a Cure Kids ambassador and is a role model for the other Cure Kids.
