Jessica Clark

Jessica Clark.jpgTen year old Jessica Clark was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in April 2007 after presenting with a tumour above her left eye. She spent four months in an isolation room at Christchurch Hospital undergoing intensive chemotherapy.

She lives in Christchurch with her parents Fiona and Michael, older sister Ruby, older brother Mitchell and her teddy bear Jay-Jay, who was given to Jessica at the hospital on her first visit and has been there for the duration of her treatment. In 2009 Jessica finished her treatment and the family is now pleased to be ‘back to normal’.

Jessica loves art and excels at maths.

She loves dance especially ballet. She is a keen artist and loves making crafts and watching the Simpsons and Sponge Bob. Her favourite colour is pink and nearly all her clothes are pink as well as her bedroom.
Jessica is learning the recorder at school and is keen to learn the violin. She loves going to the Christchurch symphony orchestra concerts and the NZ ballet. Her favourite ballet is Giselle.

Jessica is proud to be a Cure Kids Ambassador. She has represented Cure Kids as an Ambassador at several very special events including meeting Princess Anne at the Royal Show, attending TVNZ Concert for Charity in Auckland and flying to Queenstown in 2009 to meet the teams in the South Island Great Adventure Race.
