Libby McPhee Fourteen year old Libby was diagnosed with Epilepsy at age eight after it was brought to her mum’s attention that she’d been getting in trouble at school. Libby’s mum had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right and pressed medical professionals to test Libby which revealed that she had Epilepsy and was having absent seizures (brief episodes of staring whilst awareness and responsiveness are impaired) at school.Libby is now learning to manage her triggers and with the right medication her seizures have lessened. This, however, will be something that Libby will live with and have to manage for the rest of her life. She lives in Taupo with her mum Linda, two big sisters Leah and Lara, little sister Liana, the family dog, two cats and two fish. Libby loves horses and has enjoyed getting involved with Riding for the Disabled. She also enjoys singing, dance and drama. Libby loves playing with her cat Lily, hanging out with her friends and generally having fun! |
