Cure Kids and the Auckland Artfair 2005
ddddThousands of art lovers are expected to attend New
Zealand’s premiere International Auckland Art Fair this
September.
In the last decade New Zealanders have jumped ‘boots
and all’ into the life-long passion of collecting art.
In true Kiwi style we have embraced this with such fervor
that barely a moment passes without the opportunity to buy
art from a charity auction, expo, local school, art supermarket
or an internet shopping site. A bit of fun … indeed…
but not so good when the chardonnay wears off and the halogen
bulb blows. |

Time to regroup … The Auckland Art Fair is coming - a prestigious
three day event produced by The Contemporary Fine Arts Dealers Association
(CFADA) - where established dealer galleries represent participating
artists which range from leading, established and mid-career artists.
The galleries have strict criteria for artist representation. This
criteria includes excellence, quality and authenticity. Traits that
are ultimately passed on to art collectors.
The Auckland Art Fair will exhibit an impressive range of over
200 pieces of contemporary New Zealand and Australian art - a quality
selection, which will cater to a wide array of ascetic. There is
no dispute that art has a personal relationship with its owner -
what is beautiful to one can be horrendous to another. The Auckland
Art Fair encourages you to fly with your artistic impulse, making
choices to suit your own predilections with a safety net of guarantee
and expert approval. “Private, commercial galleries promote
and support contemporary art and living artists” says CFADA
President Deborah White. “We promote and maintain the highest
standards of professionalism and provide trust and confidence to
both the artists we represent and the art buying public.”
The Auckland Art Fair promotes New Zealand art and introduces New
Zealand, Pacific Island and Maori art to the rest of the world as
a creative force. “New Zealand’s reputation for visual
arts has been growing in stature on an international level and New
Zealand artists have been well represented and heartily received
in major art fairs throughout the world, says White. White anticipates
the Fair will create national and international, commercial and
critical attention.
Auckland Mayor Dick Hubbard strongly supports the Art Fair - “This
prestigious event is another fantastic opportunity for Auckland
to represent New Zealand’s creative communities and to put
Auckland City on the international cultural map. I look forward
to visiting the fair as it’s such a unique opportunity to
see so much of the country’s finest contemporary art in one
place.”
Gallery participation in the Auckland Art Fair is by invitation
only. Participants represent the primary art market and specialise
in the exhibition and first sales of artists’ work.
The Auckland Art Fair program features an opening Vernissage on
Thursday 1st September - Cure Kids will receive the net proceeds
from this event.
