Race Director Alan Nelson created the Cure Kids Great Adventure Race concept and has directed the race since its inception in 2004. He also developed the Walk on the Wild Side event for Cure Kids and further acts as the charity's Health and Safety Director for the Accor Hotels $10 Queenstown Challenge.
Alan is a professional event manager whose previous events include the Fay, Richwhite/Mi Corporate Teams Triathlon Series, Thermatech Head to Head and the Aqua Terra 24 Hour Adventure Race. In his spare time, Alan is a keen tramper, runner, kayaker and mountain biker. He is a past President of Triathlon NZ and a present trustee of the NZ Triathlete Youth Trust.
