Novotel $10 Challenge to Cure Kids
7 October 6.30pm - 10 October 9.30pm 2010

The No- training, Dress-up and Turn-up Challenge!

The Queenstown $10 Challenge was first run in February 1993 and was held every year until 2001. The event started as a fun challenge between two Queenstown locals and was to see who could make the return Queenstown to Auckland trip with no money and no assistance from friends and relatives along the way.
Over the years the rules have changed slightly but the principles remain. Each competitor gets a $10 note to survive on throughout his or her travels.

In 2005 Cure Kids was gifted the license, and since then we have raised over $2 000,000 for vital medical research into children’s life threatening illnesses.

Dress up, down and outrageously – stand out from the crowd! Competitors in fancy dress are allocated $10 each and provided with accommodation principally by title sponsor hotel Novotel. Pre-arranged transport and hitch-hiking are part of the overall test to make the challenging journey.
The team accumulating the most challenge points will win the 2010 title but

What our participants had to say after their Novotel $10 Queenstown Challenges.

“Outside my comfort zone but at the same time the most rewarding activitiy that I have ever had the pleasure in being part off” Jen, Novotel Wellington
“I just wanted to pass on my personal thanks for an amazing 5 days/4 nights! Having completed the challenge now I can honestly say that to begin with one of the strong motivators for me in doing this challenge was the thought of hitchhiking all the way down the country. However, after meeting the kids each night and seeing the spirit and personalities of not only these kids but everyone involved this is what helped to remind me why I was really doing this!” James – Extra Mile Force
“I don’t think I can thank you all enough for the opportunity to participate in such an amazing experience; I firmly believe and live by the philosophy that life is about the things we do and not about the things we have…it is our memories we carry with us forever and make us who we are…and this has surely made for some amazing memories!!” Paula
“I can assure you that after being involved with Cure Kids for the five days last week and meeting the kids that are benefiting from the work Cure Kids does, the money you all donated is going towards a great cause and an obvious difference is being made”. Paddy
