Contact energy is one of New Zealand's leading energy generators and retailers and became a part of the Key Partner family in December 2009, immediately incorporating Cure Kids into their primary sponsorship – the Contact Tri Series. Their ‘$ per KM’ campaign pledges $1 for every kilometre completed by Tri Series participants. The 2011/2012 series raised a record $89,000 for Cure Kids.
Contact energy’s support enables competitors to not only achieve a personal goal by completing the triathlon but also to make a difference to Cure Kids.
Craig Griffiths, Community Relations Manager is thrilled that the ‘$ per KM’ campaign has raised the largest amount yet for Cure Kids.”The series continues to go from strength to strength. Last year the ‘$ per KM’ campaign raised more than $75,000, this year that amount has increased by almost 20%.”
“In crossing the finish line at the Contact Tri Series, the thousands of participants throughout New Zealand have done an awesome job to help to make a difference to the lives of kiwi kids,” says Craig.
Contact Energy have also provided invaluable financial support to three teams who were entered in the 2010 Novotel $10 Queenstown Challenge but who were struggling to reach their fundraising targets, and so ensured they were able to compete.
