Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee (M&SAC)

The Medical & Scientific Advisory Committee currently comprises members of the New Zealand medical profession's most highly regarded researchers and scientists. Cure Kids is in the process of confirming a new Chairman for this Committee.

The Committee members draw on their experience and extensive knowledge to assess research funding applications on the ethical and scientific merit of the request.  These applications are for grants to conduct research into the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cures for life-threatening illnesses suffered by children.

The main role of this Committee is to provide governance and best practice principles to the Cure Kids research funding process.  The Committee will also review any other potential research projects and special projects that fall outside of the granting round.
