Professor Barry Taylor
Professor Barry Taylor is a New Zealand academic clinician, initially trained in Endocrinology and Diabetes, but whose research has spanned Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Infant and Child Sleep Disorders and more recently both prevention and management of Childhood Obesity.
He has published more than 120 peer reviewed papers and was on the working party that developed the recently released New Zealand Guidelines for Obesity Management for both children and adults. He is currently involved in three NZ Health Research Council funded randomised trials – one relating to prevention of overweight in infancy, a second related to the management of overweight children and the third being a trial of two different infant sleep environments (Wahakura vs portable bassinet). |
