Expol raises over $7k for child health research

01 June 2025

Insulation company Expol teamed up with Cure Kids to help make Kiwi homes warmer - and children’s futures brighter.

As part of a new partnership, Expol pledged to donate 50c from every bag of Timber Underfloor Insulation sold between April and May, raising an incredible $7,524 to support child health research.

“We identified Cure Kids as an ideal charity because there’s a common goal,” says Expol CEO Mark Mischefski. “They’ve made substantial investments researching some of the conditions which arise out of damp and mouldy homes. And that’s what we’ve been doing for nearly 50 years, helping sort out Kiwi homes with better insulation.”

Cure Kids has funded more than $2.8 million in research into rheumatic heart disease and over $800,000 into respiratory conditions - health issues closely linked to cold, damp living environments.

Expol’s commitment to creating healthier homes doesn’t stop at insulation. The company operates seven local manufacturing plants with a strong focus on recycling and zero-waste practices. And while this partnership with Cure Kids is just getting started, Mischefski says there’s plenty more to come.

“We’re pleased to get involved and let our customers know that when they are insulating their own homes, they’re helping others at the same time.”

You can find Expol products at major retailers including Bunnings Warehouse, Mitre 10, PlaceMakers, and more.
