The trio have teamed up with fellow musicians Hollie Smith, Ladyhawke and Tami Neilson to each create and donate an original work printed on the limited edition Jams collection for kids aged 2 thru 10 years’ old.

All profits from the range go to Cure Kids, to mark 50 years of the New Zealand charity which funds child health research to help improve, extend and save the lives of Kiwi kids living with serious illnesses – from infectious diseases to mental health, respiratory conditions to childhood cancers.

The project is led by Great Full founder Melissa Gardi, who launched the not-for-profit in 2019 to bring Kiwis together to make a difference in the lives of fellow New Zealanders.

“When Cure Kids approached Great Full about creating a fundraiser that could make an impact, we thought kids’ pyjamas could be both purposeful and fun. While kids often wear pyjamas when they sleep, they also wear them when they eat, when they play, and when they dance. I could imagine families listening to music by their favourite Kiwi musicians and dancing in their pyjamas, and Great Full Jams was born.

All of the artists I approached came on board, focusing their creativity on a meaningful project that was also fun. This offered a positive outlet during a time when musicians have been faced with relentless delayed tours and cancelled performances due the pandemic.”

Buying a pair of Jams is about much more than just new pyjamas, Gardi says.

“You’re supporting a worthwhile cause, and you’re purchasing a visual artwork by a leading Kiwi musician.”

Chief Executive Officer of Cure Kids, Frances Benge, says she hopes that Jams not only raises much needed funds but also addresses the state of children’s health in New Zealand.

“While New Zealand has some of the highest living standards in the world, this does not translate into high standards of health and wellbeing for our children. Unicef recently ranked the health and wellbeing of New Zealand children 38th out of 41 developed countries. This puts us behind countries like Bulgaria, Chile and Mexico.”

“Early intervention and prevention in a medical sense is paramount. That’s why it’s an honour to be able to fund New Zealand’s brightest child health researchers, who devote their lives to finding preventions, treatments and cures to ensure our children have healthier lives with a brighter future,” Benge says.
