Paracetamol and ibuprofen found to be safe in first year of life

Cure Kids is proud to have co‑funded a landmark study investigating the effects of using paracetamol or ibuprofen in the first year of life.
Led by Professor Stuart Dalziel, Cure Kids Chair of Child Health Research, the study found there was no evidence that using paracetamol or ibuprofen as needed during a baby’s first year is associated with an increased risk of eczema or bronchiolitis by age one.
These findings provide important reassurance that both medications are safe, and parents and health professionals can feel confident using either when required.
