Dr Ajay Iyengar is the Surgical Director of the Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Service at Starship Hospital and Te Toka Tumai Auckland.
He was instrumental in the creation of the Australian and New Zealand Fontan Registry and is a collaborator in multiple regional registries and quality improvement projects in Oceania. His clinical and research interests include rheumatic heart disease and single ventricle congenital heart disease, and he is collaborating with a team of Cure Kids funded researchers investigating how to improve outcomes of aortic valve surgery in children and young adults.
